Well faithful readers and followers...the time has come to move on to a new blog. It's honestly a little bittersweet for me because my photography business started with this blog...it's been such a familiar place for me to show you my work. However, I started realizing that I needed more within my blog and after months of hard work...it's finally ready!

The Hinkle's are some of my favorite people to photograph. They are soooo laid back and enjoyable to be around. I am at ease every time I get to spend time with them...what a gift they have of bringing peace and joy to others. I really like them :)

Meet Miss Sophia Grace. I LOVED meeting this sweet little lady and seeing her big brother Bennett interact with her. When I took these photos Sophia was only a few days old and oh so sweet.

Dustin & Sarah- Wedding

Yes. I'm still alive :) It's been the busiest summer I've ever known- with weddings, vacations, and fun...I've been way behind on blogging. AND I'm working on a new blog that I'm excited to show you all within the next month!

So...on to some new photos!

Earlier this summer I photographed Sarah and Dustin's beautiful wedding. Sarah and Dustin met in college and fell in love. Now, they're living in Nebraska and enjoying the blessings and joys of married life.

Their wedding was very meaningful and focused completely on the Lord. Simply beautiful. Their reception was loaded with great food and fun at the Air Force Academy here in Colorado Springs, CO.

Congratulations Dustin and Sarah! It was an honor to be part of your day :)

September is one of my favorite months and this year it's going to be especially great because I have the honor of photographing Elizabeth and Kyle's wedding!! Aren't these two adorable together?!

Early in May we met for their engagement shoot and we had a wonderful time. We made the most of downtown Colorado Springs, laughed a lot, and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

I cannot wait for September when I get to spend even more time with these two love birds...but for now I'll settle for the photos :) Enjoy!

The wedding and reception were held at The Pinery here in Colorado Springs. It's a beautiful wedding and events center...what a lovely reception hall!!
Brianne's mom runs/owns a bakery and did the cupcakes for the reception. Don't you want to eat one right now?!!
Brianne surprised Jeremy during the reception with a song she wrote for him. While the song was performed, she washed his feet...so touching and beautiful.

Brianne & Jeremy- Wedding: Part 1

Photographing Jeremy and Brianne's wedding was nothing short of an honor and joy. I met Brianne when I worked at Compassion International...instantly loving her! She is seriously a ray of sunshine...the Lord's light!

Jeremy is one special man. After meeting Brianne, and realizing God was laying her on his heart to be his wife, he proposed and became the luckiest man ever when she said, "Yes!!" Love it.

The lucky couple now live in Florida where Brianne continues serving Compassion and Jeremy serves our country as a Lieutenant in the Air Force. Colorado is definitely missing out. Florida has gained :)

Cassie & David- Maternity

For the past few months Cassie and I have been emailing and it has been such a joy getting to know her! After marrying David, and Air Force grad, and moving to Texas, Cassie has enjoyed married life, photography and now motherhood is upon her. She's going to be an incredible mom!!

During a recent visit to the Springs, Cassie, David and I spent some time together and took these maternity shots. LOVE THEM!! They are so easy to be around. It was a joy seeing the love they already have for their sweet baby girl on the way, Kyla.

Elisha & Loren- Wedding

It was such a joy to photograph Elisha and Loren's wedding day. From the very beginning of the day the spirit was easy going and peaceful. Elisha was gorgeous...as you'll see, and Loren so handsome. They had the most enjoyable wedding party...the day couldn't have been any better!!

Elisha and Loren both share a strong faith in the Lord which was clearly seen throughout their entire ceremony. Elisha has taken her love of Christ to Venezuela, which is where her heart lies. I loved how she incorporated various Venezuelan nuances throughout the ceremony.

Congratulations Elisha and Loren! So excited for you and fortunate to have been part of your day :)

The following shots were taken at La Foret in Black Forest, CO where the ceremony took place.

These fun additions to Elisha and Loren's wedding attire are part of a Venezuelan tradition. Towards the middle of the wedding reception masks, noise makers and hats were passed out to the guests. Everyone danced in a conga line around the reception hall and eventually made a tunnel for everyone to go through. The rest of the night people danced with their masks on and had a great time....LOVED IT!!

Recently I ventured to Denver for a late afternoon family shoot. The Kvamme's have been close to my husband throughout his life and I have been blessed to inherit them as friends. Baby Noah- Newborn

There’s something so miraculous about newborn babies. I absolutely love taking photos of them…it’s like entering into the privilege of experiencing the miracle. At least a little bit.

Meet Noah Michael. He arrived about 2 weeks past his due date. Not a moment too soon or too late, but just when God planned. His wonderful parents Michael and Kristina are so in love with this little man…I loved watching them with him. Simply perfect.

Recently I had the joy of visiting my family in PA for the month of February! It was cold and dreary...lots of snow storms...and I loved it. Call me crazy, but I really enjoy the dreary, cold weather. It makes me feel cozy and safe...staying inside with something warm to drink and my little boy in pj's all day :)

Last month I had the privilege of photographing Something New Boutique's grand opening of its new store. What a joy it's been to watch the Lord bless my dear friend Mindi and her husband Jordan (owners of SNB) as they've invested their time and hearts to making SNB a success.

Sorry it's been forever since I've blogged...the holidays consumed me for the past 2 months! Know that I'm back and have quite a few blog posts coming up...I can't wait to share them with you.

To start, meet the Mandeville family. First, James serves in the Army and I want to give credit to him for all the hard work he does to serve our country. Second, Michelle is the sweetest and easiest person to spend time with. I love how she loves and supports James. Third, how cute is their little baby boy Bryce?!!?? I have a special place in my heart for baby boys and Bryce totally touched that special place as I took photos of him. Those blue eyes...there aren't words :)

This wedding was very special to me because the bride is my dear friend Katy. I met Katy when I worked at Compassion International and immediately fell in love with this girl. Basically, anyone who meets Katy falls in love with her...that's why it was no surprise to me when Brett proposed :) I love it.

Brett and Katy make a beautiful couple- inside and out. Their love for the Lord is the center of their relationship and I know it's now the center of their marriage. I am anxious to see how God uses them in the future to inspire, encourage and support those around them.

Jeff & Lindsay- Engaged!

For 3 years I taught at Colorado Springs Christian High School. Looking back, I had the privilege to know so many incredible high school students. It's been a few years since teaching, and I love getting updates on old students...what they're up to now and where God has taken them.

Meet Jeff and Lindsay. Both were students while I taught at CSCS. While I did not personally teach them, I knew them because they were both very involved in sports and student activities. I remember when they started dating...

Fast forward 4 years- Jeff's a senior at West Point, Lindsay's a senior at Colorado State University...and they're planning their wedding!! I love stories of high school sweethearts :)

And are they not a gorgeous couple!!??!! I'm so excited for June 2011 when I'll have the honor of photographing their wedding.

Photographing newborns is one of my favorite things. I love, love, love babies' little toes, hands, ears....etc. I think babies are one of God's most beautiful miracles...it's an honor to capture them.

Meet Stella Jane. One adorable little lady...I loved meeting her.

This was one of the most creative photo shoots I've done in a long time and I owe it to Kelly, Stella's proud new mom. She had great ideas and props to work with...not to mention the world's most beautiful nursery. I could have spend the whole time photographing the nursery itself.

Kelly and Travis (proud parents) are our neighbors and friends. They are refreshing and so enjoyable to be around...I know little Stella has entered into a wonderful family. I can't wait to watch her grow up!

Meet the world's most patient family. The Knapp's.

Earlier this month I messed up the time for us to meet because of the time change. I felt terrible when I realized what I had done. So we all scrambled, got together for about 45 minutes of good light. The whole family were rockstars!! We ended up taking some more photos a couple of weeks later and had a great time. Whew!! I love easy going people. Thank God for the Knapp's!!

There's something really special about this family. When I'm around them I feel so at ease and comfortable...their genuine hearts, humor, and love for the Lord is present.

Meet the Vargas family :) True examples of people who have persevered through life's ups and downs with steadfast faith. Their faith inspires me and reminds me what following Christ is truly about. I love their example.

One thing to note as you look through these photos is that Kim (mom) just went through a kidney transplant. Her own mother donated the kidney! Isn't that amazing?!! I'm in awe.

We all met in Palmer Lake, CO on a chilly Sunday morning and had such a great time together. Everyone was willing to try out a variety of locations throughout the town...and I think it paid off :)

The Cripe's moved to Colorado just over a year ago from California. Quite the change for this adorable family of 4. My goal was to capture a glimpse of Colorado life in their photos.

This is a very special post to me because it features family!!

Meet Ingrid. So beautiful and lovely...inside and out. My cousin Robin, her husband Chris, and my two 2nd cousins, Eric & Lauren, adopted sweet Ingrid from Columbia when she was 12 years old. I remember going to Ingrid's "Welcome to the USA" party when she arrived in Pennsylvania. She was so cute and could hardly speak english. Now look at her...she's grown up, she's stunning, and she's fluent in english :)

Ingrid is enjoying life in western Pennsylvania, where these photos were taken. She's involved with volleyball and would like to go to art school for photography when she's done with high school. She is a joy and delight to be around. I wish I lived closer to get to know her better.

What better time to take photos in Pennsylvania (my home state) than the fall?! Check out the AMAZING leaves...there's really nothing more to say. And is Ingrid a natural super model or what?!!

What a pleasure it has been to photograph so many seniors lately. I look back upon my senior year of high school with fond memories. It's such a special time in life...however, my senior photos were not so special :)

It was a joy photographing Jeffrey. He was more than willing to roam around downtown Colorado Springs as I experimented with various lighting and locations. I think it paid off!

While we were shooting...I learned that Jeffrey enjoys art and is interested in going to school for cinema production. So much fun!!

Enjoy every second of your senior year Jeffrey! I really enjoyed meeting you.

Jenna- Senior

I think I've known Jenna for about 14 years. Back in Pennsylvania I used to work as a camp counselor in the summers- I had Jenna's older sister as a camper and then had the privilege to also have Jenna a year or two later.

Jenna's family has always been special to me. Her mom and dad are solid in their faith and Love for the Lord. Her older sister is a sweetheart and her younger brother is awesome. It's been a privilege to walk through life knowing them all.

Recently Jenna's family moved out to Colorado from Pennsylvania!! I'm so excited that we are now in the same state. Colorado...this is God's country :)

Jenna is now in the hunt to find the perfect college and see where life takes her post high school. She is beautiful inside and out and I know God's going to direct her to the right school. I hope she ends up in Colorado Springs next year...I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The Koldenhoven's- Family & Children

The second I met the Koldenhoven's I felt at ease. They were so laid back and enjoyable!! We met at Chautaqua Park in Boulder for a family and children photo shoot...what a beautiful day that ended up being so much fun!!

In this post you'll meet Maxwell and Bricelyn. Adorable, 18 month old twins that were so full of life! I loved their fair skin, crystal blue eyes and sweet personalities. I found myself wondering what Sam will be like when he's their age. If he's half as sweet as these two we'll be just fine.

Sheridan- Senior

Meet Sheridan. An absolutely gorgeous senior from north Denver.

As I was taking pictures of sweet Sheridan, I couldn't get over how beautiful she was/is. Her quiet and reserved personality was refreshing amongst a hectic day.

Choosing which photos to put on my blog was the hardest part to this photo shoot because I wanted to choose all of them!! The light, the beautiful scenery of Colorado, the colors...etc. all was perfect.

Sheridan has just started her senior year of high school and I know it's going to be her best year yet. Her smile is contagious and those who know her are truly blessed :)

It's been such a joy photographing this beautiful family over the past 2 years. They were the first people to let me experiment with my photography. I took photos of their dear little girl, Izzy, when she was itty bitty and when she was one year old. Now she's all grown up and absolutely stunning.

The awesome parents, Sam and Amber, are expecting their first boy any day now. Amber wanted to do some maternity photos while we were taking family and child photos. So, we utilized the setting sun at Fox Run Park and I think the photos turned out well. I wanted to capture Amber's beauty as well as her beautiful baby belly.

Also, Sam's a pastor at Alethia Church in town. The church is fairly new, thriving and growing! Check it out if you're looking for a great church in the Colorado Springs area.

A Pennsylvania Farm in August

Here's a glimpse into my personal life! Welcome to the farm :)

Last month Sam and I went to visit my family back in Pennsylvania. August is a beautiful time to visit because everything is so green and lush. As a Colorado suburbanite, I now realize how much I miss the beautiful trees, large lawns, and open fields of Pennsylvania.

During this visit I wanted to capture the farm where I grew up. My parents still live there, enjoying their retirements. My dad does an incredible job with his gardens and my mom does an equally incredible job cooking the produce from those gardens!

It was very surreal to be back this time because I had Sam. He slept in the crib I slept in when I was a baby...very special.

There are only 3 downsides to life on the farm- dial up internet, bad cell phone reception, and the closest Starbucks is over a half hour away. Now that I think about it, they're actually blessings. It's nice to be away from the inundation of technology now and then.

Emily- Senior

Meeting new people through photography is one of the things I've enjoyed the most. Such is the case with Miss Emily...featured below.

Emily was referred to me by her good friend, Marie, and I am the blessed one because of it! Emily was an absolute delight to photograph...and spend time with. I enjoyed hearing about her love of reading. As the night progressed her adorable personality came out more and more. I loved it. She's also a volleyball player. Who doesn't appreciate an intellectual girl who's also athletic?!

I hope you have a wonderful senior year Emily! You're beautiful inside and out :)

The Nygren Family

Allan and Allison are two of the kindest people I've ever met. Any time I've been around them, conversation is easy and they are completely enjoyable. Allan works for a great ministry called Messenger International and Allison is a teacher at Air Academy High School here in the Springs. Together they make a highly influential team for the Lord. I admire that.

And now there's a new member to "Team Nygren." Meet sweet Brynlee. She's adorable and quite the little lady. Once again...I had the joy of photographing a baby with gorgeous eyes.

The Hinkle Family

I love photographing this adorable family. Not only are the Hinkle's so fun to look at, but they're delightful to be around. I took photos of them earlier this year, when their beautiful boy, Bennett, was only 6 months old. We had the best time. So when I was scheduled to photograph them again last month...I was really excited.

I love how these photos turned out. I think they really capture the family's love and Bennett's sweet personality. And I seriously think he has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. I didn't even touch them up in these photos...they're really that blue and beautiful.

Lindsey & Logan- Wedding

There's something so beautiful about a wedding. It could be the miraculous power of God's covenant that unites two people to become one. It could be the celebration of love and dedication between the bride and groom. It could be the precious aspect of family that surrounds and supports. In this case...it was all of the above.

I loved being part of Lindsey and Logan's beautiful day. The weather was perfect. The bride
was stunning. The groom was handsome. Their families were amazing....nothing could have been better.

This is a fairly long post for me. It was very hard to narrow down my favorites from the day into a respectable number of blog photos...so I did my best :)

William- Senior

When I've been asked to photograph high school seniors in the past- they've all been girls. As I was driving to "shoot" William I realized that I was pretty nervous because I'd never photographed a senior guy before. I wanted the photos to be masculine and I felt as though I was only used to girly...however...I think these turned out just right.

William is a senior at The Classical Academy here in Colorado Springs, CO. He is interested in music and is hoping to move to Austin, TX after graduation and experience the music scene there. I think he'll do just fine :)

Enjoy these manly photos. I think it's possible to mistake some of them as album covers...maybe we're just getting a glimpse into William's musical future ;)

Michelle- Senior

This photo shoot was full of firsts for me. It was my first time shooting at 7 am. Yes...that's right. It was a very early morning for me to be out and about with a new baby at home, but it was such a blessing. I loved driving through the mountains, listening to my Glenn Packiam cd and worshiping Jesus. Loved it.

Then my second "first" came when I arrived for the first time in Green Mountain Falls, CO. A quaint town within the mountains near Woodland Park, CO. I LOVED it! It was full of photo opportunities and the peaceful morning engulfed me.

Now on to the fabulous Michelle. This senior is so sweet, fun and easy going. At 7 am she was willing to be bright eyed and creative. Through multiple wardrobe changes and walking down the middle of main street, she carried a positive attitude that refreshed me. I know she's going to have a fulfilling and exciting senior year at Woodland Park High School.

Congratulations on this special time of life Michelle! I loved spending time with you.

The King's- Family

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of spontaneously photographing the beautiful King family. My friend and neighbor, Christine, asked if I could take photos of her husband's family while his brother and sister-in-law were in town. I said, "Of course!"

It was so much fun meeting all of the Kings...a kind and generous family with abundant love between them.

What fun it has been to photograph this wonderful family and sweet little girl over the past year. I'm so honored that Chris and Heather have entrusted me with precious family moments and their little girl's milestones in life.

Sweet Taysen is the adorable face below. I photographed her just a few days after she was born, then again at 6 months. Now she is a year old and oh so cute!!

Enjoy this exceptionally colorful photo shoot. All was perfect...the weather, the outfits...and of course the chair in the middle of nature! Love it.

Family- The Sigler's

Meeting new people has become my favorite thing about taking photos. What a great opportunity to encounter delightful people and in turn give them tangible memories they can hold on to for years...

Such is the case with the Sigler family.

We met for the first time at Rock Ledge Ranch here in Colorado Springs, CO for a family photo shoot. Immediately I knew it was going to be a great time. The whole family was so easy going...and as soon as I found out they were Miami Dolphins fans I knew it was going to be worth every second :) (ps. I love the Miami Dolphins...NFL season is quickly approaching!)

Marie- Senior

This post is special to me because it features a very special and lovely lady. Marie.

I've been blessed to watch Marie grow into a beautiful, intelligent, kind and godly young woman. Senior year is now upon her and I have the utmost confidence in Marie to handle it with grace and ease. She is going to pursue nursing after high school and I'm totally jealous. I'd love to go back and do college all over again...I think I'd pursue nursing as well. Who knew?!

Marie's grandparents are my husband's God parents. Ever since meeting James I've been blessed to spend each Thanksgiving with his God family. I love it.
